Repositories of Primary Sources

As genealogists, we are always on the hunt for primary and secondary sources that can lead us to information about our ancestor's lives. When researching an area that you are not as familiar with, you may wonder where to find the documents that you need.

The website, Repositories of Primary Sources at http://www.uiweb.uidaho.edu/special-collections/Other.Repositories.html is a listing of over 5000 websites of collections including manuscripts, photographs, rare books and other primary sources. And, not only is this linked for North American repositories but also Europe, Asia, and Africa.

Check out this site to find additional places to look for information about your ancestor, their neighbors, community and time period.

Great link! They don't list some places in New York that I can think of on the other hand they had several I wouldn't have thought of.
